Job Title: Salesperson

Purpose of job:
Perform sales activities and assist in the daily operations of a retail firearms and archery store and indoor/outdoor ranges to ensure success of business. Utilizing strong and up-to-date product knowledge and personal expertise to perform sales duties in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction, resulting in increased business and return customers. Educate customers about Heritage Guild Range policies and procedures to increase customer knowledge and safety awareness.
Job duties - Retail Sales:
- Acknowledge and greet/welcome customers that are within 10 foot radius or 10 seconds of arriving where the associate is working.
- Listen to the customer to determine the needs and wants of the customer (80/20 rule – listen 80%, speak 20%)
- Effectively sell firearms, bows, archery equipment, general merchandise and store services according to Heritage Guild Policies and Procedures and State and Federal Regulations.
- Utilize thorough and up-to-date product knowledge to assist customers in their inquiries, expectations and purchases.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by introducing customers to the various offerings available, listening to customers’ requests, providing further pertinent knowledge and presenting products that would interest them and meet the customer’s needs
- Use sound knowledge of POS system in order to assess inventory availability, place special orders/layaways, establish an invoice and conclude a sale
- As required, complete all paperwork related to sales of firearms and ammunition accurately and in accordance with Federal and State regulations and Heritage Guild Policies and Procedures.
- Provide input on evolving product mix based on a thorough and up to date knowledge of products
- Coordinate purchases of used guns and trade-ins over the counter in accordance with Store Manager.
- Adhere to Federal and State regulatory requirements with respect to purchasing and selling firearms and/or ammunition.
- Achieve excellent customer service
- Must be able to answer HG FAQ and complete test with a score of 85% or better. Required quarterly thru Human Resources
Minimum Requirements – Education/Experience:
Position requires an individual who is responsible, detail-oriented, self-motivated, honest, and dependable and is able to accomplish duties with little supervision while adhering to policy, standards and regulatory requirements. Firearms experience is a plus.
Employee of Firearms Dealer License
HS Diploma or the equivalent
Drivers License
Experience with and working knowledge of firearms and related products desired.
Computer and Internet skills sufficient to navigate web, gather information, manage proprietary website tasks.
Working knowledge of POS system and problem resolution desired.
Good interpersonal and communications skills.
Physical demands:
Standing 75%
