The Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing all assigned accounts. This individual is expected to build and maintain excellent relationships with buyers to meet sales plans and deliver profit goals consistently. Represent Galerie's brand as the leader in the novelty confection category.
Specific Responsibilities/Accountability:
- Meet individual and team sales and profit plans.
- Understand rules of engagement for each major account and how to go to market strategy specifics.
- Prepare product proposals analyzing sales history and sell thru performance by account. Determine an assortment of items that best meet customer needs: look, price point, margin etc. Ensure that profit margins are met considering specific customer terms and conditions of sale. Obtain POS sales results.
- Negotiate and maintain customer-specific terms. Work with Accounts Receivable to resolve discrepancies as quickly as possible.
- Obtain purchase orders from buyers and follow through until the order ships: work with Purchasing to order components from vendors, enter an order in Visual, and ensure the order ships on time.
- Complete accurate Buy Sheet that reflects confirmed ship dates, wholesale cost, case pack, pre-ticket requirements, and any other account-specific information.
- Manage the broker team by account, ensuring they are held to annual sales goals to maintain assigned accounts.
- Become familiar with each customer and understand the competition by getting out to the field to perform store checks. Required at the beginning of each new product set.
- Solicit feedback form each customer and develop a system to make their job as easy as possible.
- Communicate the wants/needs of individual and collective accounts to the Business Team Leader and Design team to make sure customer product requests are met to drive sales results.
- Travel to Trade Shows annually.
- Sign off on all sales samples to ensure accuracy.
- Review production samples to make sure each product is correct and meets customer expectations.
- Mentor, train and supervise the activities of the Sales Coordinator.
Specific Duties:
- Manage day to day needs of each account.
- Forecast seasonal and year-round goods for assigned accounts.
- Schedule customer appointments with adequate lead-time to make sure sales goals are met and orders are delivered on time.
- Prepare proposals and meeting agendas and take aways.
- Communicate with buyers on any open issues in a timely manner.
- Maintain organized customer files.
- Process paperwork for account-specific Specials.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of retail math or general workings of the retail industry preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook. Knowledge of PowerPoint is beneficial.
- This would be an in-office opportunity in Hebron Kentucky / Additional travel up to 30%
