Job Description
Coordinates the planning, direction, and implementation of organization safety programs to ensure safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Perform safety related training and meetings for General Associates and Management.
- Create and implement OSHA required safety programs.
- Review incident data and job processes for identification of areas with greatest ergonomic injury potential.
- Perform Incident Investigation to determine causes and develops counter measures.
- Coordinate with other functions as necessary to develop, select and design cost effective countermeasure recommendations.
- Works with production management to develop and implement job rotation.
- Compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Assist in the administration of the worker’s compensation and transitional work programs to reduce associate lost time.
- Provides information, signs, poster, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.
- Conducts formal monthly safety inspection/audit; follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.
- Facilitates associate and manager safety committees
- Conducts classroom and hands on training for PIV
- Prepares and arranges safety exhibits and material for display, promotional work, industry conferences and exhibitions.
- Represents the organization in community or industry safety groups and programs
- First shift position
- Valid Driver’s License
- This position has no Supervisory Responsibilities.
