Job Description
Works with Omnitracs/Samsara ELD devices, as well as paper logs, and keeping up with hours of service for over the road drivers. The Safety Specialist also counsels' drivers and makes adjustments as needed.
Monitor electronic logging devices for federal compliance.
Monitor daily hours of service turned in by drivers.
Train new drivers on electronic devices that record Hours of Service.
Manage drivers who are in violation of their Hours of Service.
Approve/Deny PC based off FAQs criteria put out by FMCSA.
Assist with editing logs (drivers that accidentally stayed on duty instead of going off duty)
Run and work reports regarding HOS compliance.
2 year degree (Preferred but not required)
A general good work ethic and positive attitude. We can train for this position.
Microsoft Office knowledge
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Must work well in a team atmosphere and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
Must be detail oriented, ability to multi-task, and have a great interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
A Successful Safety Specialist must consistently demonstrate the company’s Mission and Values. They must have good oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with trainees, drivers and other team members in person and on the telephone. They must be team-oriented and must have good organizational skills. A successful Safety Specialist must be able to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Finally, they must be able to work a flexible schedule when needed to including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
