Our St. Henry Processing plant in Mercer County, Ohio, prepares the turkeys for further processing and distribution. Cooper Farms is currently seeking a Safety Specialist to join our team in St. Henry.
The primary goal of this position is to assist the Safety Manager in the efficient and effective operation of all respective programs.
SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday from 3:00pm - 11:00pm

Job Functions:
- Have working knowledge of all aspects of the safety department including, but not limited to, all the responsibilities of the Safety Assistant.
- Take the lead and own at least two safety programs by reviewing, updating, implementing, training, and maintaining to ensure compliance.
- Conduct hazard analysis within the workplace. Inspect facilities, work areas, and equipment.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify the root caused and how to mitigate the hazards identified
- Continuous further education with attending safety specific programs/classes.
- Support the needs of production and other support departments through teamwork and understanding.
- Promote the Cooper Culture through trainings and personal demonstration.
- Maintain an active interest in performance level, attendance, and attitude.
- Follow all safety practices and protocols.
