Job Description
Position Summary:Safety & Security Co-Op students will take part in projects that cover all phases of the Safety & Security process for distribution center.
Job Duties/Functions:
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
• Identify and successfully investigate matters of internal dishonesty
• Control the unexplained loss of merchandise and improve profitability
• Identify associate behaviors and/or operational issues through exception-based reporting and CCTV that may cause shrink
• Identify trends; make recommendations for improvement; teach, train and coach associates to effectively handle opportunities; monitor corrective action
• Prepare detailed and accurate reports in a timely manner
• Follow up, support, and resolve safety, environmental and regulatory issues as assigned by the Director
• Assist in supporting safety awareness and compliance in Distribution, including assistance with Workers' Compensation and General Liability claim process, and maintain all OSHA records
• Use data to identify trends that may lead to accidents and make recommendations for process changes or improvements
• As Assist with all Distribution specific training related to safety and machine training and recertification
• Develop and lead employee safety committee
• Facilitate root-cause incident investigation and implement corrective actions to mitigate future risk
Preferred Qualifications:
• Working towards bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Occupational Health and Safety, Forensics, and Business, or similar major from an accredited institution
• Preferred experience in loss prevention, conducting investigations, using physical security systems (CCTV, EAS, etc.)
• Current AHA First Aid/CPR/AED certification
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5%
