Our NYC office is seeking to hire Safety Managers for our ongoing and upcoming projects in the NYC Boroughs. Safety Manager reports to the Project Manager and is responsible for the oversight and enforcement of the contractor’s conformance with all required safety and environmental requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Oversight and enforcement of each Contractor’s conformance with all required safety and environmental requirements.
- Management of all safety and security matters in accordance with MTA C&D, NYCT, and MTA procedures and guidelines.
- Ensure that each Design-Build Contractor maintains safe, clean and healthy worksites until final completion of the Projects.
- In collaboration with MTA C&D Safety Management, review and approve each Design-Build Contractor’s safety related submissions, including the Accident Prevention Program and Hazard Communication Program, Safety Management Program, Safe Work Plans and key safety personnel.
- Maintain a log for all Safe Work Plans and ensure that no work starts without approved Safe Work Plans.
- Coordinate and participate in periodic safety walkthroughs with each Design-Build Contractor.
- Perform ongoing spot checks of photo IDs and contractor access forms. Maintain the contractor access forms as permanent files.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Successful completion Track Safety certification.
- Minimum ninety (90) days prior ROW experience under flagging and/or General Order.
- Successful completion of the 30-hour OSHA Construction Safety & Health (29 CFR 1926) Course.
- Current C-3 or C-5 Supervisor or Competent Person training for De-Leading of Industrial Structures Certificate.
- Certified Safety Professional certification is a huge plus
- Current New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) Asbestos Inspector’s License.
- Successful completion of the 1-day NYC-Department of Buildings Site Safety Manager (Chapter 33) Orientation Course.
