Fisk Electric Company is searching for a Division Safety Manager to manage the health and safety of our Miami, Florida Division. The Division Safety Manager will manage and enforce the Fisk Corporate Health and Safety programs in conjunction with our client's individual health and safety plans of each project.
This position reports to the Miami General Manager and Corporate Safety Director. The responsibilities and requirements of this position are listed below.
DESCRIPTION:
As a Safety Manager at Fisk Electric, reporting to the Corporate Safety Director, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide onboarding and safety orientation for new employees
- Create training certifications and maintain electronic safety training files of all employee credentials
- Monitor safety performance across all jobsites
- Conduct workplace safety audits
- Conduct weekly toolbox safety meetings
- Oversee and manage the performance of on-site safety representatives
- Purchase and maintain adequate stock of safety PPE and equipment
- Manage the electrical PPE program
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
- Assist project managers and/or superintendents with the development and execution of job specific safety plans
- Review accident procedures and apply the Company's accident reporting policy
- Communicate with physicians and provide injury case management assistance
- Investigate and complete incident/accident investigation reports
- Facilitate post-incident, reasonable suspicion, and random drug testing as needed
- Maintain recordkeeping of OSHA 300 logs and forms
- Provide extensive in-person safety training and mentoring to employees in confined spaces, electrical safety, forklift, lock-out/tag-out, hazardous communication, ladder safety, excavation, and trench safety, fall protection and respiratory protection
- Monitor fleet driving performance
- Facilitate background checks
- Attending industry conferences to further training and electrical safety knowledge
- Create standard operating procedures (SOP)s, including electrical safety topics, that align with the Company's policies and procedures
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10 years of progressive safety experience in construction with an emphasis in commercial and industrial electrical safety and electrical hazard mitigation
- An OSHA-500 is required
- OSHA 1926 construction regulation knowledge is required
- A Board of Certified Safety Professional CHST certification, or equivalent is preferred
- Recognition of NFPA-70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace is required
- Certified Electrical Safety Technician (CEST), Certified Electrical Safety Worker (CESW), or Certified Electrical Safety Professional (CESCP) is preferred
- Intimate knowledge of electrical safety and hazard mitigation requirements in high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage systems is required
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and the application of electrical safety mitigation processes for employee safety
- Current certification in First Aid and CPR by the American Red Cross
- Excellent verbal and written business communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred
- Must be able to meet the Company's minimum standard for Company vehicle drivers
- Must be able to meet any customer's badging/background requirements
- Must be proficient and able to provide extensive in-person safety training and mentoring to field employees in confined spaces, electrical safety, forklift, lock-out/tag-out, hazardous communication, ladder safety, excavation, and trench safety, fall protection and respiratory protection
