Safety / Environmental Technician

Our company currently has an exciting opportunity for an Safety/Environmental Technician at our Mountaintop, PA facility.

Responsibilities will include:

• Daily, weekly, and monthly EPA required inspections and company required inspections.
• Maintain logbooks and records of inspections.
• Data Entry and weekly reports of air data related to permits.
• Movement of drums in plants and associated labeling.
• Manifest filing, tracking and spreadsheets.
• SDS submission for entry into Sitehawk database and maintenance.
• Assist in routine spill cleanup.
• Sampling for compliance in Environmental and Safety compliance or investigations.
• Stock/Order/Manage supplies including spill equipment.
• Assist in auditing and maintaining of labels and general HazCom requirements in plant.
• STOP data entry.
• Safety Reports.
• Assist group in accident identification and prevention programs.
• Maintain safety Records of Training.
• Coordinate and maintenance of information and reports dealing with facility safety, safety programs, and safety / Environmental committee program.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Two year college degree or equivalent experience plus education.
• HAZWOPER 8 hours.
• 24 to 40 certification preferred.
• At least one year of experience in safety, or environmental compliance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with Oracle preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as engineering manuals, shop layout drawings, and OSHA standards.
• Proven experience in implementing safety programs and protocols
• In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation laws
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
• Certification in CPR, First Aid, or other relevant occupational health certifications
• Familiarity with EPA regulations related to hazardous materials is a plus,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and delivering training sessions
