POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Supports safety office crash data management. Pulls crash data to address weekly crash data requests, reviews crash reports, helps to maintain and update safety databases, and assists in development of fatal crash deposition reports.

 

Performs site reviews or inspections or meetings in support of safety reviews and evaluations. Aids with Safety Outreach of Florida Department of Transportation offices, local agencies, and other interested parties.

 

Assists with day-to-day safety office functions such as safety recommendation entry and tracking and maintaining safety databases in a timely and consistent manner.

 

Composes and produces routine correspondence. Maintains digital files and records of correspondence, invoices, documents, reports, and other materials.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Skilled And Proficient In The Use Of Computers And Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook, Teams And One Note); Ability To Solve Problems Relating To Engineering; Ability To Plan, Organize And Coordinate Work Assignments And Projects; Ability To Communicate Effectively; Ability To Establish Effective Working Relationships With Others; Knowledge Of Florida's Strategic Highway Safety Plan; Ability To Collect, Analyze, And Interpret Engineering Data; Ability To Read And Understand Job-Related Materials And Fill Out Reports And Forms; Ability To Manage Workload To Produce On Time Resolutions To Problems; Lift, Carry, And Handle Up To 50 Pounds; Stoop, Squat, Push, Pull, Crawl Or Bend On A Frequent Basis; Stand For An Extended Period Of Time; Ability To Participate In Meetings With Internal And External Customers To Represent Traffic Safety Interest To Include Useful Commentary And Review Of Work Products And To Include Correspondence And Follow-Up Contact As Needed.

 

OTHER JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

 

Employee will be required to be responsive to emergency situations within a very short timeframe and serve in the Transportation Emergency Management Team (TEMT)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

A high school diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency. Two years of experience in customer service, technology, public outreach, or community education programs.

 

As a CANDIDATE, you may be required to provide documentation (i.e. HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENCY, college transcripts, ETC.) to verify meeting these Minimum Qualifications.

 

A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $478.40 will be added to the annual salary.
