Position Summary
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting LONG's safety and fleet programs, with an emphasis on coordination of various safety training programs and the tracking of those activities. This role will be in key in facilitating and supporting an effective safety management program and culture at LONG.
Pay Range: $21 - $31 per hr. plus potential profit share

Responsibilities
- Assist with the scheduling and coordination of various safety trainings across all our locations and track completion by employees.
- Screen, train, and monitor LONG drivers to provide data to leadership on vehicle trend's and oversee vehicle inspection and maintenance program.
- Assists with the coordination of the safety committee meetings and create safety newsletters and signs.
- Coordinates scheduling, documentation and record keeping of department safety-related training and health screenings in relevant systems of record.
- Collect and maintain records in relation to all safety incidents and near misses for internal records and OSHA logs.
- Conducts on-site visits at various work locations to perform safety observations for gap analysis and discover trends where improvement is needed.
- Assist in the identification, initiation, and implementation of safety procedures and process improvements.
- Coordinates safety related projects including activities involving safety related vendors or consultants.
- Guide employee injury, motor vehicle and other types of workplace accidents to determine root causes and steps needed to mitigate risk of re-occurrence and reduce hazards.
- Assists with Workers Compensation claims including communication with Occupational Clinic, Workers Comp Third Party Administrator, the injured worker and worker supervisor.
- Promotes safety and health awareness culture through employee engagement, collaboration, training programs and leading by example.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in related degree field, bachelor's degree is preferred
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Problem solving, oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to speak in front of others well to conduct training in groups.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat proficiency.
- Possession of various safety related certifications such as OSHA 500, OSHA 30, BCSP credentials or willing to get.
