Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator
- Proactive implementation of the Safety Nets.
- Implement the Sodexo HSE Policies and Procedures.
- Establish accountability for HSE performance and goal attainment with direct reports.
- Promote HSE awareness among employees at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with local legal regulations and Sodexo HSE provisions.
- Allocate sufficient resources to support effective HSE training.
- Define and implement action plans to address HSE objectives and goals.
- Ensure a Risk Assessments are completed to identify risks for all relevant workplaces and processes are adequately communicated and managed.
- Ensure that there is a process in place to maintain workplaces and equipment under your direction, that are safe, well kept and in compliance with HSE programs.
- Conduct incident investigation.
- Encourage and provide a broad spectrum of employee’s participation the design and implementation, and ongoing operations of the site health and safety program. Some examples of possible participation include, but not limited to:
- Participation in the Safety Committee.
- Participation in the Training Program.
- Participation tin Hazard Reviews and Inspection.
- Maintain safety documentation (training records, monthly safety inspection and OSHA recordkeeping).
- Set up and train an appropriate emergency management organization in line with local risks, clearly defining responsibilities, powers, and procedures.
- Establish a communication process to ensure good relations with clients and the public regarding HSE issues.
- Ensure that HSE-relevant incidents, as well as situations where assistance is required, are reported to Sodexo Corporate HSE, and, when necessary, to the appropriate authorities.
- Routinely review the account HSE management system through self-audits and self-inspections.
- Safety Committee-Ensure that the Safety Committee is active and effective within the unit, as outlined in the Safety Committee section.
- Hazard Control-Perform incidental and planned inspections with corrective action and follow-up as outlined in the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment section.
- Safety Education-Train and evaluate all employees on compliance with safety standards. Provide training for new employees, and continuing education and specialized training for all employees as outlined in the Safety Education section.
- Vehicle Safety-Monitor driver selection/screening, vehicle maintenance/inspection, and accident prevention as outlined in the Vehicle Safety section.
- Injury/Illness Response-Involve management in all decisions from the tie the accident occurs until the employee is back to 100% efficiency as outlined in the Employee Injury and Illness Reporting and Response section.
- Safety Recognition-Celebrate the successes within your operation and provide recognition and incentives for safety performance. Numerous incentive and recognition programs are available, as outlined in the Safety Recognition section.
- Implement the Hierarchy of Control to eliminate, reduce or control the risk of different hazards.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 1+ years related experience.
- Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential.
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect.
- Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, customers, and client representatives.
