SAFETY COMPLIANCE OFFICER

Interlink Transport is an auto transport company and we have been in business for greater than two decades and focused on rapidly expanding our volume with new contracts and freight.

We are searching for a motivated professional to fill our safety and compliance position. The Safety Compliance Specialist will work out of our Wills Point office and report to the General Manager. This position requires excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as a willingness to learn new skills and keep current on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Additionally, this person must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt to change and competing demands, and maintain composure even in difficult situations.

This position oversees all regulatory compliance activities, including a compliant status, safety, training, and professional development for management and CMV operators, coordination, and management of the crash management process, and conducts audits and inspections.

What we're looking for:

· You MUST have extensive experience with ELD compliance, ELOGS and OTR hours of service

· You must have experience and extensive working knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations concerning interstate commerce.

· You must be available nights/weekends/holidays, as needed, to support drivers for incidents, accidents, and injuries.

· Manage compliant DOT Drug and Alcohol program, including random testing pool, FMSCA clearinghouse, post-accident required testing, and reasonable suspicion testing.

· Conduct Driver orientation for all new hires, including Owner Operators and added equipment.

· Perform driver reviews, random as needed, 90 Day, 6 months, and annuals.

· Administer the coaching of drivers based on performance.

· Work to continually improve driver safety, driver retention, and customer service.

· Assist in overseeing recruiting drivers and their qualifications per company requirements, working cross-functionally with other departments, verification of previous employment, handling and updating safety and compliance files, managing DQ files, auditing Drivers HOS, Unassigned Miles, and ensuring that the company is in full compliance with all DOT and FMCSA requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements:

· Must possess excellent written, verbal, organizational, time-management, and interpersonal communication skills.

· Must have an in-depth knowledge of hours of service and experience with Electronic Log Devices

· Must be capable of operating and handling stress and tension in a fast-paced environment

· Must have proficiency with management systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) And able to learn other company-based systems as needed.

· Must have two years of OTR trucking industry experience

· Must have two years of experience with safety and regulatory compliance management

· Must have two years of experience working with Federal Motor Carrier Safety and OSHA regulations

· Must have experience with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation compliance or Human Resources related functions preferred

· Must have excellent follow-up skills to ensure client satisfaction

Responsibilities & Functions:

· USDOT Registrations and Applicable Filings

· Hours of Service Regulations for Commercial Motor Vehicle Drivers ·

· Updating company policies pertaining to drivers and equipment ·

· ELOG Management and Follow-up

· New Hires; including processing applications and onboarding

· Manage and track truck folders and maintenance

· Track, write and conduct driver performance reviews

· Manage Cargo and Liability Insurance

· Update driver permit books and perform equipment audits

· Track, renew and update IFTA, 2290’s, Cab Cards, DOT inspections, etc.

· Lead monthly driver safety call

In general, your work is self-directed with minimal guidance; you will solve problems, serve as a resource to fellow teammates, assess customer needs and requirements, stay on top of deadlines and responsibilities and keep records meticulously organized.
