Job Summary:
This position reports to the Director of Safety and Compliance. As an Asset Safety Coordinator, you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the safety of physical assets, including equipment, machinery, and facilities. Proficient in managing fleet maintenance through the utilization of company fleet management software, ensuring awareness of the current status of all trucks, and promptly reporting equipment breakdowns and damages. Conducts regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, collaborating with safety and health professionals to develop and implement safety programs. Provides comprehensive training and awareness programs on safety protocols and procedures, responding promptly and effectively to employee safety concerns. Maintains accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions while ensuring driver awareness of Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and compliance methods, effectively managing DOT compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and evaluate the safety of physical assets, including equipment, machinery, and facilities.
- Manage fleet maintenance.
- Use of company fleet management software
- Know the current status of all trucks in the fleet
- Report equipment breakdown and damage
- Report safety, security, and theft issues
- Implement preventive measures to reduce the risk of accidents or damage to assets.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with safety and health professionals to develop and implement safety programs for employees.
- Provide training and awareness programs on safety protocols and procedures.
- Respond promptly to safety concerns raised by employees and address them in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Ensure drivers know DOT requirements and our compliance methods.
- Manage DOT compliance.
Qualifications:
- 3+ year experience in Fleet Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using safety management software and tools.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast paced and always changing environment.
- Must have the ability to manage people effectively.
- Excellent organization, communication (both written and verbal), and interpersonal skills required.
- Self-motivated, able to multi-task and work effectively under a minimum level of supervision in a fast-paced environment, strong problem-solving skills.
- Hire and train new drivers as needed.
- Travel up to 50% of the time to outer islands.
Physical Requirements:
The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty pounds will be done using team lift. Must meet physical lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
