Job Summary – Safety and Training Specialist

The Safety and Training Specialist inspects and evaluates workplace environments, programs, equipment, and practices to ensure that they follow government safety regulations.

Your role will include:

· Conduct frequent Safety and operational audits to ensure that OSHA laws and procedures are followed.

· Assist Human Resources or Dir. of Organization Development with safety investigations and may be assigned safety violations to document and investigate.

· Identify safety issues and problems and review them with Human Resources before taking corrective action.

· Conduct Forklift Certifications

· Conduct new hire safety training and orientation.

· Provide any follow-up safety or equipment training as needed (in case of accident).

· Respond to facility inspections from outside agencies (i.e., fire department, CUPA, etc.).

· Maintain facilities safety records and ensure compliance with the company’s Safety and security policies.

Job Requirements

• Must be eighteen years of age
• Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug Test, Physical, and Background
• Valid Driver’s License (Enforced for at least 2 years)

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

· OSHA Outreach Trainer – 10-hour and 30-hour General Industry Safety and Health Certification

· Two to five years of work-related experience

· Proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)

· Flexibility to drive to multiple locations throughout Southern California with occasional overnight stays

· Proven success in building rapport quickly with learners of various backgrounds
