The Phoenix Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the following areas: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

As the Safety and Security Manager at Phoenix Job Corps, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing a comprehensive Safety and Security program that encompasses all aspects of our operations. With your expertise and knowledge, you will be required to develop and maintain policies and procedures that promote a safe and secure workplace for our staff and students. You will be expected to conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency preparedness drills to identify potential hazards and mitigate risks. Your role will also involve developing and delivering safety training programs to ensure that all staff and students are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to respond to emergencies and prevent accidents. By fulfilling your responsibilities, you will contribute to the overall success of our mission to provide high-quality education and skills development to our students.
Responsibilities:
  1. Safety Oversight:
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety policies and procedures.
    • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
    • Collaborate with department heads to ensure safety measures are integrated into daily operations.
  2. Emergency Preparedness:
    • Design and lead emergency response drills to ensure staff and students are well-prepared for various scenarios.
    • Establish and maintain emergency communication protocols.
  3. Security Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate security personnel, ensuring a professional and efficient team.
    • Implement access control measures to safeguard the campus.
    • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to enhance overall security.
  4. Investigations and Reporting:
    • Conduct thorough investigations into security incidents and report findings to relevant parties.
    • Maintain accurate records of incidents and responses for future reference and analysis.
  5. Training and Awareness:
    • Develop and deliver Safety and Security training programs for staff and students.
    • Foster a culture of safety awareness through regular communication and educational initiatives.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's degree from an accredited school or related certifications preferred.
A minimum of three years' experience in military, law enforcement and/or safety management required. Must possess a valid in-State Driver's License and meet Company insurability requirements. DOL approval required if reporting to the Center Director.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
