Reports to: Director of Running Start
Olympic College is recruiting for a full-time coaching position for the Running Start department. We have an opening for a Running Start Coach to provide coaching, guidance, and support for our Running Start students to ensure they have the best opportunity to achieve their educational goals. By providing expertise, the Running Start coach assists the students in successfully navigating the Olympic College Start-to-Finish experience by developing a Completion Plan and the strategies, skills, and self-efficacy that leads to achieving the plan, as well as facilitating a seamless transition to a program faculty advisor for specific advising in the field and/or educational/career path as needed. The Running Start Coach uses analytics to determine individual student risk and needs, and to support the development of strategies to assist students in setting and succeeding in an educational pathway. The Running Start Coach plays a pivotal role in promoting student success to ensure each student reaches key benchmarks throughout their academic program and through engagement with and support of their pathway program faculty.

Essential Functions
- Work in partnership with Running Start department staff as a member of the team that provides support to prospective and current Running Start students
- Assist students with the quarterly selection of coursework by:
- following high school counselors' written recommendations
- providing information about various Olympic College certificate and degree options
- providing general guidance about distribution options for the OC AA/DTA offering
- demonstrating online planning resources
- relaying prerequisites and course sequences
- reviewing progress towards high school diploma and higher education goals
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and software.
- Experience working with students in an academic setting.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education, student development, human services, or a related field.
- Community college advising experience.
- Running Start department work experience.
- High school counseling experience.

Additional Information
Terms of Employment
This is a full-time salary exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday. The salary range for this position is $60,951 - $67,047 DOE annually, which includes a generous benefits package: life, health, dental insurance, retirement, vacation & sick leave, and holiday pay.
