- Responsible for the safe and proper movement of all merchandise ensuring the inventory integrity is met at all times.
- Responsible for receiving, storing and pulling merchandise in department.
- Attendance on all weekly required conference calls, and in store sales meetings; assists Rug Merchandiser in communication of current sales events at store sales meetings etc.
- Obtain and manage pull list for replenishment purposes.
- Responsible for ensuring all sold items are paid for and have detail line audit comments matching the condition seen on the floor prior to removing items.
- Receive, verify, and report all new shipments accurately. Account for damaged merchandise in transit, refuse any damaged merchandise, and note it on the bill of lading.
- Responsible for the safe handling and placement of all goods to ensure quality is kept.
- Direct the flow of goods from the showroom to the warehouse and warehouse to the showroom.
- Maintain the neatness, uniformity, and presentable appearance of the rug department.
- Inventory, tag, and place rugs and pads into their proper location, tagged and priced correctly according to the directives of the buying office.
- Separate and categorize rugs by size, type, and design I.e.: Traditional, Transitional, and Contemporary rugs grouped and placed by size, type, and price point.
- Keep walkways clear of tripping hazards i.e.: rugs, rug clips, and other debris.
- Assisting sales associates product information, identifying pieces with missing SKU’s, additions to rug purchases i.e. padding and protection plans
- Responsible for maintaining a safe department for customers as well as employees.
