This full time position will report to the Facility Manager at Reagent’s Rail Shop located in St Gabriel, LA. Below are details and scope of the position.
Responsibilities:
A Reagent Rubber Liner is expected to have mechanical aptitude and experience. Reagent rubber liners inspect interiors of rail cars/trailers/vessels/tanks, spark test, sandblast, and apply adhesives, interior linings, service equipment fittings.
- Working closely with others in the rail car rubber-lining department to perform all functions relative to rail car disassembly, assembly, cleaning and spark testing of rubber-lined rail cars.
- Inspecting and repairing other rubber-lined vessels, including trailers and storage tanks.
- Includes the tasks of sand blasting, adhesive applications, stock cutting, and lining applications.
- The work must comply with federal regulatory and industry requirements as well as company procedures & requirements.
- ~15% travel to perform rubber-lining duties at remote locations throughout the United States.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately with attention to detail.
- Ability to reprioritize based on current dynamics.
- Communication – Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport; ability to proactively seek solutions using diplomacy and tact, ability to collaborate and cooperate with others.
- Decision-making, which demonstrates sound judgment for results and is cost-efficient.
- Railroad Knowledge – Preferably, rail and quality assurance experience.
- 3-5 years of mechanical experience
- High school education or general education (GED)
- Experience as a Level I, II, or III Rubber Liner in the rubber lining, rail industry or related field highly desired
- Ability to work in a confined space
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Compensation:
$25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience
