Responsibilities
The ultrasound research team at Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota, led by Dr. Shigao Chen (https://www.mayo.edu/research/faculty/chen-shigao-ph-d/bio-00027435), is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join us and work on cutting-edge ultrasound imaging projects such as microvessel imaging and 3D imaging. Our team has developed several novel technologies in shear wave elastography technology, attenuation imaging (for grading fatty liver disease), and super-resolution imaging that are licensed to 6 different ultrasound companies. Mayo Clinic is ranked as the No. 1 hospital by U.S. News & World Report, and No. 3 on the Forbes list of “America's Best Large Employers”.
The candidate should have a PhD degree (in biomedical engineering or a related field) and experiences in ultrasound/medical imaging and MATLAB programming. Candidate will have opportunities to work with different ultrasound scanners (including Verasonics research systems and clinical scanners in engineering mode), develop new imaging technologies, and perform animal and patient studies. The post-holder will benefit from dynamic scientific environment at Mayo Clinic and close interaction with ultrasound companies. Long-term position with career development is also possible.
A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Upon background check and CCATS Executive Committee approval, Research Fellow may have patient/research subject contact directly relating to and incidental to the original research program. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.Qualifications
Must have a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program.
