Tri County Metals is hiring Class A CDL, Short-Range Flatbed Route Drivers in Okeechobee, FL. This Team Member will safely and efficiently deliver metal roofing panels, trim and other materials required to our customers on a timely basis, so they are able to complete their projects on time.

General Schedule
- Return to your home and your bed daily!
- Schedule is Monday – Friday! Weekends are yours to enjoy!
- Amount of contact: Typically unloading loads with a knuckle-boom on the trailer or from a Moffett lift off the trailer.
- Securing the Loads with strapping.
- ALL work is completed on ground level – orders are not put on top of any structures.
Equipment
- Newer Fleet of Dodge 3500/5500 Flatbed trucks, 30’ – 40’ Gooseneck Trailers, forklifts, knuckle Boom & Moffett – with career progression – Semi & 45’ Trailers on some routes
- Our entire fleet has automatic transmissions.
- GPS and E-Logs
Responsibilities
- Drivers must always put safety first and always wear appropriate PPE!
- Pre-inspect truck trailer, load with materials for proper security and verify the load for accuracy.
- Inspect the jobsite to verify a safe space to unload the product with respect to equipment, materials, and property.
- Communicate with customers, dispatch, and lead as needed for timely delivery and reporting any issues or hazards.
- Adhere to and understand all safety policies and procedures.
- Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations for CDL drivers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 26 years of age.
- Must have a Florida Class A CDL license in good standing.
- Proven and verifiable experience driving a commercial vehicle is highly preferred.
- Preferred experience handling building materials and forklift operation.
- A clear result from the Drug and Alcohol clearing house as “Driver not Prohibited!”
- An approved Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) as established by our insurance carrier.
- Must have DOT Physical
- Must be able to regularly lift items up to 70 pounds, bend, squat, and step onto and off the trailer as required.
- Must be comfortable executing tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Must have the ability to make responsible decisions on jobsites for safety and protection of equipment, materials, and property.
