Our drivers provide support in the day-to-day operations of the food bank and are responsible for the pick-up and delivery of product as needed. You interact with members of the community and provide a much-needed service to our neighbors. This includes pick-up on retail routes and other donor routes as well as delivery of product to agencies, schools, and Regional Food Centers. Other duties might include, staging orders on fork lift for dock loading truck delivery; assist in the safe and orderly storage of product within the warehouse; load and unload transport vehicles; help at food distribution with product giveaway as well as clean up afterwards; sort food and become proficient in Feeding America salvage guidelines; assist in pulling orders correctly, promptly, and in good condition as needed; keep vehicle, warehouse, and grounds clean and neat; be responsible for upkeep of LCFB vehicles to ensure they are kept in service and report damages in a timely manner. Requirements1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid driver’s license.
3. Current ten-year motor vehicle record with no moving violations in past 3 years.
4. Box truck driving experience.
5. Proficient in operating forklifts, liftgates, electric pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
6. Must be able to pass DOT physical exam.
7. Ability to apply basic math concepts.
8. Able to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, can move objects up to 2,000 pounds with proper equipment.
9. Well-developed sense of urgency and follow through.
