Summary

Plans, develops and implements the daily activities of the ROSS Elderly and Disabled Program by accessing information and support from the agencies that assist the elderly and persons living with disabilities with enhancing their quality of life to maintain their independence. Recruit, interview and screen prospective public housing residents for the program. Provide counseling, guidance and implement programs that will enhance the socialization, education health and wellness of the elderly and disabled. Identify needs and barriers to achieving goal, and plan for removal of barriers and needs. Regularly meet with participants to provide training and individual assessment of progress.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and/or implement an active recruitment strategy to maintain ROSS Elderly and Disabled Program unduplicated residents to be served according to the grant goals and objectives.

Compile research data and translate into effective programs that assistance program participant with aging in place and their health and wellness goals.

Coordinates services and activities with community agencies and businesses for the provision of direct services for program participants.

Analyze ROSS Elderly and Disabled Program participant’s goals and outcomes and compile information for the monthly Executive Directors report and for the semi-annual and annual reports to HUD.



Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or other social science and a minimum of three years of experience in coordinating services for seniors and case management. A combination of education and experience may be considered. Must possess a valid NC State issued driver’s license and be insurable under the Authority’s plan.

Technical Skills

To perform this job successfully, the employee must have strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products at an intermediate level (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks. Must also possess the ability to effectively operate all office equipment including but limited to copiers, scanners, fax machines and telephones.
