Job description

The Rooms Division Director is a senior management position within the New York Athletic Club, responsible for overseeing all aspects of Rooms Division including guest services, Front Office operations, the Lobby Communications Center, Housekeeping, Reservations, Coat Check, and Front Services. This role requires strategic leadership, strong operational management skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences while maximizing revenue and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight:

· Direct responsibility and oversight of the Front Office, Housekeeping and Security departments.

· Monitor and ensure compliance with club policies, procedures, and standards to maintain a positive member experience.

· Ensure that all member/guest interactions meet or exceed the club's standards for hospitality and service excellence.

· Oversee the development and implementation of member service initiatives, training programs, and standards of operation.

· Monitor member/guest feedback and implement improvements as needed to enhance the member experience.

Strategic Planning and Leadership:

· Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to drive operational excellence and enhance the guest experience within the Rooms Division.

· Provide visionary leadership to the Rooms Division team, setting clear goals and expectations and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

· Collaborate with other department heads and senior management to align Rooms Division goals with the overall objectives of the club.

Front Office Operations Management:

· Oversight of Front Office operations, including check-in/check-out processes, room assignments, and accounting functions.

· Implement efficient systems and procedures to optimize front desk performance and streamline guest interactions.

· Ensure seamless communication and coordination with other departments to provide a smooth and personalized guest experience.

Housekeeping:

· Provide management oversight to the housekeeping department to ensure that rooms and public areas are clean, well-maintained, and properly equipped.

· Establish and enforce standards for cleanliness, maintenance, and safety, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance.

· Coordinate with vendors and contractors to address maintenance issues and execute renovation projects as needed.

Revenue Management and Financial Performance:

· Develop and implement pricing strategies, revenue management initiatives, and promotional campaigns to maximize room revenue and occupancy.

· Monitor room rates, occupancy levels, and market trends to identify opportunities for revenue optimization and cost control.

· Analyze financial reports and performance metrics to track revenue, expenses, and profitability, and take proactive measures to achieve budgetary goals.

Staff Training and Development:

· Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing Rooms Division team, providing ongoing coaching and feedback to foster professional growth and development.

· Conduct regular performance evaluations, set performance objectives, and provide resources and support to help team members succeed.

· Promote a culture of teamwork, communication, and service excellence among all Rooms Division staff.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

· Proven track record of success in Rooms Division management or related hospitality roles, with at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience.

· Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

· Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

· Proficiency in hotel management software and reservation systems.

· Familiarity with revenue management principles and practices.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

· Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing hotel operations.

· The Rooms Division Director plays a critical role in leading and managing the Rooms Division operations of the private club, ensuring high standards of service, guest satisfaction, and financial performance. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to excellence in hospitality management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
