As a Forklift Mechanic/Road Technician, you will travel to customer locations in company service vehicle, diagnose problems and make repairs. This position requires experience with forklift/automobile maintenance and repair (Electric, IC, LP & Diesel systems) as well as experience with hand tools and knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. Participate in Modern Group's in-house training classes. Diagnose, repair and maintain all systems on all makes and models of forklifts and various types of material handling equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Automotive Mechanical and technical experience is a must.
- Valid driver's license with a clean record.
- Previous experience in forklift, automotive or engine repair.
- Forklift experience preferred but not necessary.
- Excellent customer service and organization skills
- Automotive experience is valued.

- Must be a self-starter, able to work independently with no supervision.

Essential functions of the job, including but not limited to:
- Repair, maintain, mechanical trouble shooting for forklifts, construction, landscaping equipment and /or cranes
- Orders parts as needed, communicates with Parts Department as to the status of parts on order
- Informs customer and service management of parts on order status and job status
- Utilizes all training, online manuals and/or seeks help/ advice if a problem arises at customer site
- Informs service management of any incoming shop jobs
- Strives for optimum billing of labor hours each day
- Makes every effort to look up parts needed for jobs
- Efficiently uses MobleFrame eRO process and any other service process software which Modern deploys
- Informs service management prior to start of work day if unable to report to work and requests vacation time with adequate advance notice
- Assists service management in scheduling follow-up repairs
- Actively participates in devising and completing one’s own training plan and obligations to Modern where training is required
- Responsible to notify service management of any and all vehicle repairs and inspection needs
- Must obtain proper authorization from customer on any overtime billing. Either prior to or after normal branch operation hours
- Must obtain approval from service management of any alterations to normal start/quit times.
- Must complete electronic time sheet at end of each work day and submit via e-mail.
- Maintains a professional appearance and attitude each day.
- Keeps interior and exterior of company service van clean.
