Arranges or partners with other health professionals regarding health and safety standards for out-of-home childcare, childcare licensing requirements, disease reporting requirements for care providers, immunizations for children, injury prevention for children, medication management and knowledge of community health and mental health resources for children. This full-time position offers a flexible schedule; there is a expectation to travel to Canaan, NY.
Job Responsibilities
- Serves as the primary point of contact to schedule medical appointments and follows ups as needed.
- Meeting all requirements of ORR policies and OCFS regulations regarding medical care.
- Assists with developing relationships with new providers as needed.
- Partners with ORR to assure providers are set up to accept specialized payment for this population.
- Refer children for needed services and assist in provider selection.
- Coordinate with health care providers, including requesting and receiving documentation in appropriate time frames and uploading that to the UC portal.
- Developing and maintaining procedures related to medical.
- Adheres to agency policies and procedures; promotes and supports agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complies with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including those of ORR and the NYS Office of Children and Family Services.

Job Requirements
- NYS RN license Required
- 1 year employment experience in the child welfare field working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting.
- Fluent in English/Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills preferred
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with extreme discretion, demonstrated knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
- Varicella Vaccine required OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from a healthcare provider verifying previous infection.
- MMR (Measles Mumps & Rubella vaccine required OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases.
- Tdap (Tetanus-diptheria-pertussis) vaccine required.
- Influenza vaccine required, one dose annually during flu season.
- Covid: Being fully vaccinated means you have received a primary COVID vaccination series, plus one (1) booster COVID vaccination if you are eligible to be boosted. You are eligible to receive a booster COVID vaccination 4-5 months following your primary COVID vaccination series, depending on which type of COVID vaccine you received during your primary COVID vaccination series.
- Physical (Medical Exam) required.
- Must be able to work 9AM-5PM during new hire orientation to complete TCI(Therapeutic Crisis Intervention), CPR and Sanctuary training and maintain TCI and CPR certification.
- Required to be 21 years or older.
- Must have a current, valid driver's license per Agency guidelines. Travel required.
- Required to have client facing interaction.
