PeaceHealth is seeking an RN Wound Care Specialist for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position.
The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $46.46 – $69.68. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

The RN Wound Care Specialist provides professional nursing direct patient care for patients with Wound Care needs in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Provides both education and clinical interventions that promote patient independence and self-care.
Details of the position:
- Provide direct patient wound/skin care. Performs conservative instrumental debridement and chemical cauterization of hypertrophic granulation tissue and closed wound edges. Initiates and monitors compression therapy for patient with venous insufficiency.
- Assess patient and develop plan of care. Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards. Communicates with health care team to support case management of patients.
- Develops, delivers, and evaluates education programs for patients, staff and community. Serves as resource to physicians, staff and community.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Product recommendation and involvement in committees and projects in area of expertise.
- Supports the pressure ulcer prevention program. Assists in review of Pressure Ulcer Policy and Procedure, monitors specialty bed utilization.
- Responsible for outpatient clinic services as they pertain to scheduling, treatment, billing and infection control.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
- Bachelor's Degree Required: Nursing. or equivalent education/and or experience
- Minimum of 1 year Required: experience in dedicated Wound Care.
- Required Upon Hire: Registered Nurse In state of practice and
- Required within 1-1/2 Yrs: Certified Wound Specialist American Board of Wound Management or
- Required within 1-1/2 Yrs: Wound Care Certified National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy or
- Required within 1-1/2 Yrs: Certified Wound Care Nurse Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing Certification Board
- Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support
- Whatcom: In addition to required certification, may be required to attend course for training in Hyperbaric Medicine.

- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment. (Required)
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures. (Required)
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications and other applicable clinical applications. (Required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs. (Required)
