RN SUPERVISOR
Job Summary:
The Nursing Supervisor provides quality nursing care to residents and supervises the day to day activities of nursing assistants in accordance with federal, state, & local laws and policies of this organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Supervises care given by nonprofessional staff and provides instruction as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The nursing supervisor is in charge of countless medical management needs within a clinic, such as:
- Creating and implementing nursing policies to foster a positive and organized work environment while planning, prioritizing and assigning health care tasks to clinical support team members.
- Managing medication schedules and ensuring communication with the medical team to avoid medication errors.
- Encouraging all staff to adhere to the highest standards in patient care and conducting regular staff reviews.
- Maintaining knowledge of current trends in nursing and ambulatory care and educating teams.
- Communicating with patients and their family members as needed, and offering emotional support and compassionate care to patients and families in distress.
- Assessing, processing and discharging patients.
- Managing patient and employee records with a focus on following HIPAA regulations and quality standards.
- Providing a direct line of communication between patients, nursing staff and physicians.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

Education and Experience:
- Current license to practice nursing in the state.
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a leadership role.
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a professional nurse.
- Demonstrated proficiency of 50 percent of the skills required for Level II.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
