Essential Functions:
The RN Staff Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care based on the standards of care and the policies of LCMC Health. Delegates to professional and non-professional personnel involved in the delivery of care.
Facilitates and maintains a safe environment for patients and others with a specialty in wound care treatment and prevention:
Duties:
- Administer intravenous medications and fluids to patients
- Monitor patients during infusion therapy and assess for any adverse reactions
- Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and their families on infusion therapy procedures and self-care techniques
- Document patient information, treatments, and responses accurately in medical records
- Maintain a sterile and safe environment for infusion procedures
- Assist with the insertion, care, and removal of catheters
Skills:
- Proficient in catheter care and maintenance
- Knowledge of workers' compensation laws and regulations
- Experience in acute care settings, such as hospitals or clinics
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and interpretation of results
- Ability to provide critical care interventions in emergency situations
- Proficient in suturing wounds and providing wound care
- Skilled in triaging patients based on their condition and urgency of treatment
- Experience administering injections, including intravenous medications
- Knowledge of ICU protocols and procedures
- Familiarity with medical office operations and electronic health records systems
