psi is looking for a RN-School Clinic Oversight PRN at a Private School in Garfield Heights and a Private School in Solon to provide support and guidance by supervising the nursing and ancillary clinic staff. You would continuously evaluate and monitor clinic flow to ensure an efficient student visit. This position would be for the 2023/2024 school year with the opportunity to continue into next year.

The RN Oversight position entails supervising assigned clinic staff to ensure they are completing their assigned duties in a safe and timely manner. This is a collaborative, supportive role to foster a positive working relationship.
Responsibilities

• Review the Health Resource Guide (available on the psi-health intranet) to refresh your knowledge of specific psi procedures.
• Special attention should be paid to the "Position Duties" applicable to the staff you oversee (HRG Evaluation Tools Section)
• Meet with assigned staff and building principal/office staff and establish a means of communication
• Provide School Staff training for Blood Borne Pathogens, Choking Maneuver, Epi-Pens, basic diabetes overview as needed (See School Staff Training found on the psi-school health intranet)
• Ensure all students with chronic health needs have Care Plans in place with needed signatures (eg. Asthma, Allergies, Diabetes, Seizures)
• Discuss Immunization Review with clinic staff as needed and ensure State Report submitted by October 15th each year.
• Assist with Vision & Hearing Screenings as needed and ensure referrals were sent and that the ODH report is submitted at the end of the school year
• If AEDs in the school, review who is performing the monthly check/maintenance
• Review supply order with clinic staff as needed
• Review medication orders for completeness each visit
• Review medication inventory, initial and date when reviewed each visit.
• Review "How to share medical concerns list" with assigned clinic staff
• Complete and submit a Health Staff Evaluation Form in Apri/May. This can be found in the Evaluation Tools in the Health Resource Guide on the psi-health intranet.
• Inform the Regional Supervisor of any concerns throughout the year

Qualifications

• Valid Ohio RN license required
• Must be knowledgeable about OSHA guidelines, communicable disease prevention, medication protocol, medical records management, and crisis intervention procedures
• School-based or pediatric experience preferred
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
• Must have a current CPR certification and pass a comprehensive background check.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with students, parents, and other staff members.
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws and ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and use sound judgment in all aspects of the job
