Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towards population health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty and urgent care locations in Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. Position:RN / Registered Nurse /Lake View Cardiology
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of patient care duties which include assisting in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Interviews patients, measuring vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), venipuncture and procedure as directed by the physician
- Documentation is recorded in the Electronic Medical Record in accordance with IPM guideline
- Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
- Assists in covering the front desk as required
- Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions, administers prescribed medications, and monitors and documents treatment progress and patient response
- Delegates as allowed under the Nurse Practice Act
- Refers to/consults with physicians, other health providers, and community resources to prevent/resolve problems or concerns
- Educates patients and families about health status, health maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions

- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program. BSN preferred.
- BLS from the American Heart Association (or obtained during orientation) and maintain certification throughout employment
- Current state nursing license or permit to practice nursing in the State of Texas
- Minimum of one to three (1-3) years working as a Registered Nurse. Three to five (3-5) years of related experience, preferred
- Proficiency in basic computer programs and operating systems, such as Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, preferred
- EKG machine proficient
