Facility requires clinical prescreen. If recommended, the hiring manager has 24-hours to accept/decline this candidate. They will not call for a 2nd phone interview.
Department: IMCU | RN
- # Beds: 22 private beds.
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5 days and nights.
- Required Certifications: BLS ACLS
- Common diagnoses: Cardiac, open heart day 3, cranis, cardiac cath- radial and femoral, watchman, zephyr
valve for COPD, pacemakers, trachs, continuous CPAP, Bipap, chest tubes, CBI. No vents.
- Experience: Positive attitude. On year of experience. First time traveler okay. ICU experience a plus.
- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes
- Common titratable: Cardizem, amiodarone, nitro- for blood pressure only, insulin, heparin.
Dopamine/dobutamine- renal dosing.
- Charge Nurse: Team Lead during the day- does not take patients. Charge on nights/weekends/holidays. Charge
takes patients.
- Are there nurse aids on this unit: Yes - 1:10. Blood sugars, vitals, ADLs.
- RT Equipment: CPAP, BIPAP, HFNC
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit: RNs read tele. They do have a centralized tele tech that helps monitor.
- Shifts & Scheduling: 5-5. Manager does schedule. Try to accommodate block schedule.
- Weekend Requirements: Every other.
- Holiday Requirements: Every other.
- Is there call or a standby requirement: No
- Floating Requirements: Float to ICU to take PCU level patients, or to med surg to take a full assignment.
- Scrub Color: Caribbean scrubs.
- Unit/Department specific orientation: One 12 hour shift.
