CorVel Corporation is hiring a caring, self-motivated, energetic and independent registered nurse to fill a Medical Case Manager position in the Western Slope.

Work from home, and attend appointments. Monday – Friday, regular business hours.

As a Field Case Manager, you will work closely with treating physicians / providers, employers, customers, legal representatives, and the injured workers to create and implement a treatment plan that returns the injured / disabled worker back to work appropriately, ensure appropriate and cost-effective healthcare services, achievement of maximum medical recovery and return to an optimal level of work and functioning. Must reside in the Western Slope

MUST be an RN and secondly the home location must be in the Western Slope.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and competency in the application of case management standards of practice
  • Use advanced knowledge of types of injury, medications, comorbidities, treatment options, treatment alternatives, and knowledge of job duties to advise on a treatment plan
  • Interview injured workers to assess overall recovery, including whether injuries or conditions are occupational or non-occupational
  • Collaborate with treating physicians / providers and utilize available resources to help create and implement treatment plans tailored to an individual claimant
  • Work with employers and physicians to provide modified job duties to facilitate early return to work
  • Evaluate and modify case goals based on injured / disabled worker’s improvement and treatment effectiveness
  • Independently manage workload, including prioritizing cases and deciding how best to manage cases effectively
  • Attend injured worker’s appointments when appropriate, prepare status updates for submittal to customers, and other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Effective communication and multi-tasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient grammar, sentence structure, and written
    communication skills
  • Ability to meet with the patient, their physicians, other healthcare providers, attorneys, and advisors/clients and coworkers.
  • A cost containment background, such as utilization review or managed care is helpful.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office including Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environments.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • Active RN license required
  • Experience as a RN, Medical Case Manager is ideal, or a clinical background in critical care, orthopedics, or rehabilitation is preferred.
  • Must obtain certification within 3 years and/or be in good standing with .URAC-recognized certification in case management (CCM, CRRN or COHN, COHN-S)
  • This position requires local, distance or otherwise regular travel via vehicle. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel to assigned locations is required.

PAY RANGE:

CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

Pay Range: $59,362 – $88,722
