Coordinates nursing care for patients of all ages, coordinates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel focusing on outcomes in patient care and in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The RN is responsible for the coordination of interdisciplinary functions and manages resources for quality patient care. The Registered Nurse is seen as a role model for exhibiting the Behavioral Standards and Customer Service expectations of War Memorial Hospital.
Responsibilities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse and provides documentation of same.
2. BCLS required.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current NRP certification required within three (3) months.
2. ACLS required within six (6) months of hire.
3. PALS required within six (6) months of hire.
4. National Certification as a Med/Surg Nurse recommended.
5. Demonstrated knowledge in the area of Medical/Surgical Nursing.
6. Crisis management/restraint training required within forty-five (45) days from date of hire.
7. Must keep patients safe.
8. Basic fetal monitoring course required within three (3) months.
9. AWHONN membership recommended.
10. Certifications related to Obstetric Nursing recommended, such as IBCLC, RNC, Car Seat Technician, NRP Instructor, etc.
11. Willing/able to accept standby call assignments.
12. Demonstrated knowledge in the area of Obstetrical Nursing.
13. Must keep patients safe.
