Shift: Full-Time, Days, 7-10 hrs. / Weekdays Only
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The RN-OR Nurse Manager demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Nurse Manager is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, physician’s orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- 3-5 years of RECENT ACUTE CARE staff level OR or CVOR RN experience.
- Must have 1 year of Manager Experience in the same Unit.
- Ideal Candidate: Energetic, engaged, good communication skills, and dedicated to a team environment.
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN) Will Consider ADN Candidates; BSN preferred.
LICENSE REQUIRED:
- Current Registered Nurse License or Compact/Multi-State license, Required.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Current BLS Certification, (Required)
- ACLS certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
