Job Summary and QualificationsSupervisor- Nursing
The Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Nurse Manager with the daily operations of her/her unit. This responsibility includes but is not limited to acting as an educational resource for unit staff, assisting with facility scheduler processes and daily Kronos editing, and performing patient rounding to maximize patient satisfaction and quality standards. In addition, the Supervisor supports the needs of the unit/organization by working with other hospital departments as needed to ensure high-quality care for all patients.
What you will do in this role:
- Your role demonstrates the facility’s Standards of Performance, ICARE values, and Patient Promise.
- You will assist with the coordination of educational activities for staff.
- You will assist with coordinating processes designed to ensure the organization’s quality objectives are met.
- Your role is to perform daily rounding to ensure patient satisfaction criteria are being met.
- Your role is to assess, monitor, record, report, and follow through on symptoms or changes in the patient's condition.
- You will consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and modify the care plan, as indicated by the patient’s responses and conditions.
- You will delegate nursing tasks as appropriate and safely but retain accountability for patient care
- You will provide individualized education for the patient, family, and caregiver throughout the care continuum.
- You will adhere to standards of safety and infection control in the delivery of patient care.
- Your role demonstrates a thorough knowledge of and complies with all policies and procedures related to the performance of job duties
What qualifications you will need:
- Minimum of 1-year relative unit experience
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing
- Current licensure by the Tennessee Board of Nursing or another acceptable Board of Nursing
- Current BLS certification
- Pursue and complete specialty certification within one year from date of hire
