- Reports directly to Associate Administrator of Patient Care.
- Visit and help coordinate activities of nursing unit to achieve and maintain continuity of patient care.
- Evaluate nursing unit needs. Staff to meet these needs in collaboration with nurse manager.
- Give advice for treatment and medications in accordance with medical staff polices and orders.
- Arrange for re-allocating personnel during emergency situations.
- Interpret hospital policies and regulations to staff members, patients, and visitors and insure conformance.
- Participate in staff education. Provide in-services for shift.
- Promote harmonious relationship among personnel, medical staff, patients, visitors, families and other departments.
- Assist nursing unit during busy times.
- Assist in training and provide support of new RN’s.
Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification:
- Current state RN license
Must have a copy of a diploma or offical transcript of the highest level of education
BLS certification- ACLS certification
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Completed yearly in-services (Infection Control, Fire Safety, Safety Management and LIFE Fair).
- Participated in a work related in-service.
- Attends special committee, department and in-service meetings when scheduled and/or required.
- Presents in-service for unit
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
