Parkview Medical Center is hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN)/Surgical Services Educator for the new Parkview Pueblo West Surgical Department as a Full-Time employee in Pueblo West, CO.
Short Description
As a Registered Nurse (RN)/Surgical Services Educator, you will implement the plan of care for adult patients as well as provide education coordination and instruction within the scope of the Surgery Department at our new Parkview Medical Center at Pueblo West. This full-time, days position floats to these units as needed throughout the shift to provide the highest quality of care.
Parkview Medical Center is preparing to open our newest facility, Parkview Medical Center - Pueblo West, in September! Our Orthopedic Surgery suite is state-of-the-art and will be one of the most technologically advanced facilities in Southern Colorado. Until our opening, you will have the opportunity to train and work alongside our staff at the Parkview Medical Center Main Campus.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Education
Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Licensure
Current Colorado RN License or Nurse Licensure Compact (Multi State Licensure) required.

RN/Surgical Services Educator Roles and Responsibilities
- To provide nursing care to patients in the acute care setting within the scope of license.
- To provide education coordination and/or instruction for the Surgery Department.
- Serve as an advocate for patients who are under anesthesia and/or sedation.
- Ability to be a strong communicator between interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to multi-task via multiple technology interfaces at the same time.
- Understand who our customers are and what our customers expect of us.
- Be the first to respond to any customer request or need.
- Support other members of the work team in meeting customer needs.
- Be accountable for the technical and behavioral competencies of the job.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Operating room and circulating experience required. Orthopedic, Recovery Room and/or ICU experience preferred.
- Previous educator experience preferred.
- If the job requires driving for Parkview, the employee must have a current Colorado driver's license, may need to be 21, and may need to submit proof of insurance coverage.
Education
Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Licensure
Current Colorado RN License or Nurse Licensure Compact (Multi State Licensure) required.
Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
- CNOR preferred.
