Job Description
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities Cardiovascular Lab and is responsible and accountable for directing and facilitating the flow of patient care activities of the department. The person in this position works under general supervision and assists the manager in the achievement of the patient care unit(s) goals and objectives. This position works in a supportive manner as a resource for the Cardiovascular Lab units and as a representative for the manager
Responsibilities
- Assists the director in the development, implementation and evaluation of ongoing service programs that ensure quality nursing and patient care programs consistent with the hospital's mission.
- Monitors/maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy for patient services and environmental and personnel safety.
- Maintains current license/certification and knowledge of patient care requirements for all procedures. Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need.
- Fosters a service, which is consistent with the patient care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the department.
- Consults with patients/families as requested. Assesses patients/significant others survey responses regarding patient care and services.
- Responsible for ongoing development of staff and unit-specific patient care programs.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of organizational and financial resources.
- Checks stock inventory and initiates orders.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Associates Degree Nursing, Radiology, Bachelor's Degree Radiology, or Technical Diploma/Certificate Nursing, Radiology Required.
Minimum Work Experience
- 3 years Clinical experience in the cardiovascular lab Required.
Licenses and Certifications
- Registered Nurse Licensed State of Florida or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required or Certified Radiology Technologist Licensed State of Florida Upon Hire Required.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of cardiovascular invasive procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and potential managerial competency.
- Evidence of this includes, but is not limited to, effective communication skills, ability to deal well with people, ability to problem solve, ability to confront/resolve issues, ability to motivate others, ability to plan, organize, and direct the activities of others.
