Description
RN Circulator assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care plan of patients within the Surgical Services department. Performs a focused assessment of the patient and monitors procedures in the operating room during surgery. Maintains sterility, safety and organization of the surgeon and the patient to ensure the best outcome. Ensures nursing services are delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards, medical plan of care and policies. Must have a wide range of skills to accommodate a variety of surgery specialties. Must meet the patient's needs through collaboration with the healthcare team. Surgical Services Director may assign to serve as RN Preceptor for the unit.
Requirements
*One year of experience in a healthcare environment preferred
* One year of Registered Nurse experience in the area of application preferred
* Current Registered Nurse license (either Louisiana RN or Compact RN) verified thru Louisiana State Board of Nursing or Nursys
* BLS/CPR certification. American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA) BLS/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire date and renewed by the recommended renewal date thereafter.
* ACLS certification renewed by the recommended renewal date. ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire date and renewed by the recommended renewal date thereafter.
* PALS certification renewed by the recommended renewal date. PALS certification required within 90 days of hire date and renewed by the recommended renewal date thereafter.
