Rn Circulator / Circulator Nurse / Surgical Nurse

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Circulating Nurse to join our dedicated team at Lehi Surgery Center. As a Circulating Nurse in our state-of-the-art facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients throughout their surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the success of our ambulatory surgery center.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and in working order.
• Perform pre-operative assessments, verifying patient identification, surgical site, and procedure details.
• Warmly greet patients, answer their questions, and prepare them for surgery.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to create and maintain a sterile field during procedures, adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Assist the surgical team as needed during surgery.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing updates on the progress of surgery and addressing any concerns or questions.
• Ensure the proper handling and labeling of surgical specimens for pathology analysis.
• Assist with the post-operative care of patients, including the transfer to the recovery area, monitoring vital signs, and addressing immediate post-surgery needs.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all nursing care provided during the surgical process.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control protocols.

Requirements

• Honesty, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license in the state of Utah.
• Demonstrated experience as a nurse in an operating room (hospital or ASC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Proficiency in sterile technique and infection control practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical environments.
• Commitment to patient safety and providing high-quality care.
• Willingness to stay current with advances in surgical technology and techniques.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards related to ambulatory surgery centers.
