Coordinates nursing care for patients of all ages, participates in patient and family teaching, and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Takes call and responds in a timely manner. The Registered Nurse is seen as a role model for exhibiting the Behavioral Standards and Customer Service expectations of War memorial Hospital. Will float between BHC and Med/Surg units as C1 or C2 RN.
Responsibilities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Currently licensed by the Board of Licensing and Regulation in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse, and provides documentation of same.
2. BCLS required.
3. Must keep patients safe.
CORE QUALIFICATIONS:
1. ACLS required within six months.
2. PALS required within one year.
3. National Certification as a Med/Surg Nurse recommended.
4. Demonstrated knowledge in the area of Medical/Surgical Nursing.
5. Crisis management/restraint training required within forty-five (45) from date of hire.
6. One to three years inpatient and/or outpatient mental health care experience within the last seven years as an RN, Mental Health Technician, LPN, Grad Nurse or Nurse Intern required.
7. Successfully complete MDCH Recipient Rights Training within 30 days of employment.
8. Crisis management/restraint training required within sixty days from date of hire.
9. ANCC certification recommended.
