Essential Job Duties:The Equipment Manager provides support for assigned sports. The Equipment Manager
communicates daily with Head Coaches, coaching staff, student athletes, trainers, Athletic Administration, alumni, vendors andNCAAandACCofficials. S/he will advise coaching staff, student athletes and trainers of equipment and services available.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Researching and making recommendations and/or decisions regarding purchases, equipment repairs and transportation of equipment while adhering to budget and purchasing guidelines.
- Working with vendors and internal clients to resolve any issues regarding equipment.
- Ordering equipment in a timely schedule to ensure that all equipment is ready for use for practice and competition.
- Coordinating logistics and transportation of equipment and supplies to all regular and post- season games and practices both in-state and out of state.
- Maintaining appropriate documentation on all bids, approvals and other correspondence relating to purchasing inventory.
- Developing and enforcing inventory controls and procedures.
- Remaining up-to-date and knowledgeable about the contract benefits that the University is supposed to receive during the course of the year.
The individual in this position must adhere to all NCAA and ACC and institutional governing policies and procedures.Other Responsibilities:
- Required to work overtime as needed for practices and regular and post-season games.
- Position requires weekend and holiday hours.
- Other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalency.
Other Required Qualifications:- Experience working in Division 1 collegiate athletic equipment room.
- Prior experience with an inventory management software.
- Previous experience working with a baseball program.
- A valid driver’s license. Driver’s license is required and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
