As an RN on NICU must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill necessary to provide care to the appropriate age of the patient. To provide care to newborns. The RN must use their knowledge to assess the physical and emotional needs of the patient/family and develop a plan of care that incorporates these principals. The RN must have the ability to implement the plan, to supervise others with the implementation and assess its effectiveness. To provide care to critically ill newborns and their families in a safe and nurturing environment and with consideration given to age and developmental level. The RN is responsible for the coordination of the patient's care.
Core competencies will be assessed primarily on the following patient population(s) served: Population will also include neonate.
Education & Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Enrolled in a BSN or MSN program and graduate on or before the second employment anniversary date into a nursing position.
- BSN or MSN graduates preferred.
- Minimum 12 months current Level III NICU experience required.
Certification/Licensure:
- Current registration with New Jersey State Board of Nursing. BLS,NRP (NALS) required.
- National certification required within 3 years of hire.
Physical Requirements:
- Mental capacity to perform responsibilities.
- Able to walk briskly, stand and lean over.
- Able to lift moderate weight.
- Has quick reaction to prevent injury topatient or self.
- Able to perform duties listed in N/A jobdescription when necessary.
