POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Supply Chain Intern will get a broad exposure to the Supply Chain organization and leadership team to gain valuable career development and real-world experiences through planned projects to support Supply Chain functions. This position will actively give support to the internal purchasing teams, along with potentially working cross-functionally with sales, engineering, operations, and quality to support the organization and the goal of building the best-in-class fire apparatus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

All employees are required to support Rosenbauers Mission, Vision, and Values. The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties. The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

  1. Data collection out of the internal systems to create reports essential to the Supply Chain function.
  2. Set up automated reports for vendor management, purchasing analysis, item reporting, and other essential Supply Chain reporting.
  3. Conduct vendor relationship research for multiple plants to analyze shared vendors, current pricing, and
  4. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company and our members.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:

  • Undergraduate students currently enrolled in at least their sophomore year pursuing a degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or a similar field.

Required Experience:

  • General understanding of material resource planning (MRP), data entry, and accounting.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiar with running/manipulating reports, working within an ERP system, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Position Requirements:

  • Able to work efficiently with Sage to complete job tasks.
  • Analytical and highly motivated individual with acute attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple and diverse projects, including analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, problem solving, decision making, and carrying out assigned projects with minimal supervision.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, including tack and diplomacy, which would be utilized during customer service, conflict management, development of relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Able to recognize the importance and adherence to all safety policies in order to promote a safe working environment, for everyone at the organization.
  • Entry-Level to Intermediate experience and working knowledge of relevant computer software, i.e. MS Applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general understanding of ERP systems.
  • Must handle sensitive or confidential information with discretion.
  • Able to understand the need to support the organization to work effectively by adhering to the attendance and punctuality standards and does not burden co-workers and supervisors unfairly with unnecessary and unplanned absences and lateness.

Language Skills:

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

  • Ability to perform simple tasks, such as typing a letter and using basic commands such as setting tabs, opening, and closing files, simple formulas.
  • Prior experience with a computer terminal and/or PC.

Decision Making:

  • Responsibilities are frequently guided and reviewed by a supervisor.
  • They follow a standard set of instructions that describe the proper procedures for handling problems that may occur.
  • Supervisor or other personnel would handle any problems not covered by these instructions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position works in an office environment. It is a quiet environment that is temperature controlled, ventilated, and well-lit. Working Conditions will include a desk space where most of the shift will be spent, and it provides open space to work in. This office space is routinely cleaned by Rosenbauer Cleaning Services. It has access to all welfare facilities. This position requires traveling to different departments, so working conditions vary when out of the office. This can cause exposure to extreme cold or heat depending on the season. Working conditions may include humidity, wet floors, and loud noises. Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk. There is also sometimes dust and airborne particles due to the machines being used in all of the different shops.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires sitting and some walking and standing for the entire shift. Some tasks may require reaching. During shifts, the use of hands and figures may exceed 60 minutes, while the use of feet, knees, legs, back, shoulders, and arms may reach a max of 15 minutes. All positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
