RMIS Technology Administrator
Pay Details:
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $67,000 to $76,555 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Risk Management Information System ("RMIS") Technology Administrator serves as the internal and external representative of the RMIS system for the organization. This role incorporates administrative and analytical functions related to insurance claims, litigation management, incident tracking, and risk exposure collection into the RMIS system. This role also works closely with the Risk Management and Legal teams, RMIS users, and the RMIS system vendor to maintain system usability and data integrity. The position's main function is to ensure the RMIS contained data remains accurate so that it consistently acts as a reliable source of truth for the organization and provides meaningful metrics that will assist Risk Management to mitigate the organization's loss exposures, as well as meet the internal needs of users and successfully exchanges data with applicable third parties.
Responsibilities
RMIS System Oversight
  • Gather, manage, interpret, and analyze risk management, insurance, and other company-related data and ensure it is appropriately maintained within the RMIS system.
  • Work with RMIS vendor to manage, define, and implement new ways to optimize its functionality and services
  • Keep abreast of new system offerings and determine with management which capabilities are best suited for the organization
  • Collaborate with IT and software development teams to implement system upgrades and enhancements
  • Act as the liaison between the internal user group and the system vendor for any support service requests, as well as track and maintain support hour utilization
  • Schedule and oversee routine system maintenance activities
  • Ensure all system users are kept apprised ahead of time of when the system will be down for maintenance and upgrades

RMIS Data Accuracy & Integrity
  • Conduct ongoing assessments and audits of RMIS data
  • Maintain and enforce the RMIS data update schedule
  • Collaborate with business departments to understand data needs and capabilities within the RMIS system
  • Proactively approach necessary changes or updates to the system to ensure it remains consistent with organizational structure

RMIS User Team Management
  • Review, update, implement, and maintain protocols for data security, permissions, and technical maintenance
  • Work with users and manage processes and expectations related to system and screen design
  • Support Risk Management and Legal system administration, including user provisioning, troubleshooting, and training
  • Conduct system training and create and update user-guide materials as needed

Reports & Analysis
  • Streamline and automate recurring reporting
  • Compile reports and summaries and prepare presentations to communicate findings
  • Provide advice about factors influencing success and data for various projects as assigned
  • Analyze RMIS data, identify trends, and provide insights to support strategic risk management and legal decisions
  • Make general recommendations on how to mitigate risk based on RMIS data and analytics

Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 4 + years of experience with database management
  • Experience managing, preparing, reporting, and interpreting large sets of data with accompanying business recommendations
  • Working knowledge of database design and architecture concepts
  • Familiarity with reporting and data analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with standard project management methodologies and requirements
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude
  • Mastery of Excel, highly proficient using functions and formulas
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to think logically, analyze quantitatively, problem solve, and prioritize several high- priority tasks simultaneously
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
