As an Engineering Tech in the Energy Team, you will support J.P. Morgan (JPM) petroleum engineers in efficiently evaluating customers' oil and gas assets.
Job responsibilities
- Assist engineers with setting up client's ARIES or PHDWin engineering databases including changes to pricing, effective dates, and other support for analysis workflows (e.g., separating new wells for further analysis, isolating areas or assets for potential sale)
- Prepare reserves outputs for use in JPM reporting templates and additional analysis methods, e.g., CF modeling workbooks, reconciliation tools, portfolio tools, Spotfire.
- Maintain, update and modify existing Excel tools and support development of new tools.
- Facilitate data transfer working with client technical teams; gain familiarity with individual assets to act as a pre-screening step when refreshed engineering data is delivered.
- Track and maintain records of historical, spot and forward (futures) price files including various O&G benchmarks and basis data.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience in an engineering tech role working for a financial institution, reserves engineering firm, or E&P company.
- Fluency in reserves engineering workflows and experience using O&G reserves software tools (ARIES, PHDWin, Spotfire) and Microsoft Excel, Access is required.
