Risk Management Intern - Safety

Camping World is looking for a driven Risk Management intern for the summer of 2024 to work closely in our Risk Management department. As an intern, you will assist with the daily operations and gain first-hand experience on a variety of projects within the Camping World Safety and Property function. If you are eager to learn and want to further develop yourself as a professional; this is the ideal internship for you.  

Candidates must have the ability to work in our Chicago or Lincolnshire office on a hybrid basis (3 days in office, 2 days remote) for 10 weeks, beginning in June of 2024. 

Responsibilities: 

• Assist in the recording and tracking of safety training for all Camping World locations and individual associates.  
• Update property related information (ex: fire extinguishers, sprinkler tests, etc.). 
• Prepare/distribute safety manuals and training resources to locations as needed. 
• Contact locations and confirm they have key safety supplies and forklift kits.  
• Report to assigned manager and mentor in the Risk Management department daily for specified tasks  

• Become knowledgeable of the Risk Management department’s procedures and processes  
• Take on individual projects while ensuring daily communication with supervisors and learning different aspects of Risk Management  
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with integrity and honesty 

Qualifications:  

• In pursuit of career in Risk Management, Insurance or closely related field 
• Cumulative: 3.0 GPA  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills 
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 

• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate 
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
• Must be diligent, organized, and extremely detail oriented  

• Strong written and verbal communication skills 
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment with ability to multitask
