WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Function is dedicated to developing and implementing a strategy for identifying and managing significant risk exposures at BCG while supporting the overarching strategy of the firm. The function aligns itself with the internal staff at BCG where each office, internal function, Managing Director and Partner (MDP), and all employees bear the responsibility for managing risk at the firm.
The ERM team assists the dispersed owners of the risks to self-discover, analyze, and improve management processes and controls around risk. Working with other stakeholders, the function is also the important catalyst and discussion partner with respect to broader BCG enterprise risk topics, including, but not limited to, areas of contracting and client matters, confidentiality, HR, IT, legal, and compliance topics including, anti-bribery and corruption, KYC, supplier management, information management, insider trading, conflicts of interest, information security, and data privacy, etc.
The team develops tools, knowledge, capabilities and trainings to empower all BCG staff to act in accordance with our Values, Purpose and Code of Conduct.
As we continue to grow our ERM program and embed risk processes across the organization, we are looking for a new colleague to support various related projects and initiatives.
The right candidate must be able to understand, identify, design, and drive the implementation of new/existing internal global enterprise risk management initiatives. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain an understanding of BCG's key risks their potential impact, and our gaps in planning and mitigation strategies (including through the use of dashboards, risk registers, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the business to identify risks, promote and embed risk awareness and processes
  • Participate in the identification of emerging risks and trends
  • Support implementation of initiatives to continually improve, and address key gaps in BCG's overall risk management framework
  • Work closely with risk leadership
  • Perform data analytics and consolidate findings into decks for Senior Leadership
  • Participate on cross-functional teams addressing risk gaps
  • Assume support role in on-going risk key risk management topics
  • Identify and document helpful lessons learned and best practices from internal and external events to foster the culture of continuous improvement within BCG
  • Lead, participate in and/or manage ad hoc risk-related projects
  • Team closely with ERM team co-ops to train, develop and guide them throughout their experience
  • Maintain and continually improve the ERM team's internal microsite and other relevant pages. Support efforts to promote the page and the team within the firm
  • Seek out continuous professional development to stay up to speed on current events, the latest risk-based topics / trends, as well as technical expertise (e.g. Tableau, PPT)
This role will report to a Manager within the Global Enterprise Risk Management Team, which is led by BCG's Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
YOU'RE GOOD AT

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • An academic degree in a relevant discipline: (e.g., risk management, business administration / management, compliance)
  • 1-3 years of risk management experience, especially with exposure to enterprise risk management programs and processes
  • Consulting background and/or direct BCG experience a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with GRC and/or ERM software a plus
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, Word; Additional exposure to Tableau, Alteryx, SharePoint, cloud technology, Slack, Trello, One Note a plus
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); Additional languages a strong plus
  • The ability to attend conference calls after hours ad needed to accommodate stakeholders and team members in other geographies
  • Willingness for international travel on an ad hoc basis (may be required - approximately 10%)

YOU'LL WORK WITH
A variety of cohorts and functions across the company from consulting staff through senior leadership as well as external vendors as needed and other members of the broader risk organization.
