DESCRIPTION: Do you enjoy helping guests create new memories while having fun? A Ride Operator may be the position you are looking for! Help Knoebels operate the rides safely for the guests enjoyment while following all the ride rules and regulations.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Smile and greet guests in a pleasant manner
- Answer questions or direct guests to someone who can
- Verify that the daily ride inspection sheet is completed & signed before operating ride
- Verify all riders meet ridership requirements
- Check for an accurate wristband, or collect the correct amount of ride tickets
- Follow standard operating procedure for ride, operate ride in a safe manner including loading and unloading guests
- Properly check ride safety restraints
- Effectively communicate safely instructions in a clear manor
- Closely observe ride and riders to ensure safe operation
- Report any & all problems to supervisor immediately
- Respond safely and calmy to emergency situations
- Perform cleaning duties at workstation to maintain a clean safe work area
- ALL RIDE OPERATORS MUST TAKE AND PASS A PRE EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST
TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Minimum age 16 or 18
- Must be able to speak, write, and understand English
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work for your scheduled shifts
- This is a seasonal fulltime position, with most evening and weekend hours required.
- Must find your own replacement if unable to work your scheduled shifts
- Requires frequent walking, standing and bending
- Requires working in an outdoor environment around high noise levels
- Ability to learn and apply ticket handling procedures
- Must have an outgoing personality with a strong commitment to guest service and to Knoebels Amusement Resort
- Must be dependable, reliable, prompt, efficient, trustworthy, adaptable, organized and be a team player
- Must be upbeat, energetic, self-motivated and be able to stay focused
- Must present a professional image in appearance and conduct
- Must relate to people in a friendly professional manner
- Must follow company uniform, grooming and hygiene requirements

- Must not eat, smoke or use tobacco while at any workstation and keep drinks out of view of guests

This means the duration of the job will customarily be six months or less. Some employment at Knoebels may customarily extend beyond six months and this employment is typically classified as variable hour employment. The employment is considered variable hour employment because average weekly hours cannot reasonably be anticipated at the time of hire due to uncertainty of the work schedule (e.g. weather, fluctuating staffing needs, etc.).
